Luciana Jeanette Dudley, resident of Concord, died on August 21, 2012 at her home in Concord, CA, surrounded by her loved ones. Born June 27th, 1925 in Crockett, CA, Lu is survived by her husband of 56 years, Romaine Dudley; her sons Dan Smith, Rod Smith, Martin Dudley, Paul Dudley, David Dudley and Ira Dudley; daughters-in-law Susan Smith, Joy Smith, Dawna Dudley and Cheri Dudley, and siblings Richard, Raymond and Pauline Ruiz. Luciana was predeceased by parents Mary and Salvador Ruiz; siblings Beatrice Ruiz, Primo Ruiz and Eloise Uribe; former husband Rod Smith; beloved sons, Patrick Smith and Robert Smith; nephew Chris Uribe; grandson Jeremy Smith; and sisters-in-law Jayne Ruiz and Bettie Bazuik. Known as Nana to her seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and Aunt Lu to her nieces and nephews, Lu was deeply respected and dearly loved as the matriarch of her large family. Services will include a Celebration of Life at 6:00PM with the Rosary at 7:00PM, Thursday, August 30, 2012 held at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord. Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00AM, Friday, August 31, 2012 at St. Agnes Church Concord with a reception and celebration of life to follow at St. Agnes Hall. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Luciana's caretaker, Yesenia Moreno, as an expression of gratitude for her help in the last weeks of Lu's life.
