R. E. Brown, 88 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Monday, July 22, 2013, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, January 15, 1925 in Gibson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Erby Fulton Brown and the late Birdie Lee Jernigan Brown Webb.
Mr. Brown was a retired law enforcement officer, former member of the Newbern Masonic Lodge, Shriner and United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II.
Graveside services for Mr. Brown will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday in Yorkville Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Rev. James Combs. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of sixty five years, Lottie Brown of Newbern, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Cody Finley of Ashland City, Tennessee, Russ Finley of Newbern, Tennessee and Christy Hollis of Yorkville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Austin Fletcher of Yorkville, Tennessee, Sydney Finley and Aidan Finley both of Newbern, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Letha Finley, brother, Malcolm L. Brown and his step-father, Harry Webb.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Parnell, Dustan Hollis, Cody Finley, Russ Finley, Richard Finley and Larry Dunaway.
