Rettko, Richard James Passed away at his home in Hollywood, Alabama after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife Linda (Coder) Rettko; children Peggy (Billy) Bick of Joliet, Richard McIntire of Scottsboro, AL, and Melissa (Gerald) LaCourse of Hixson, TN; four grandchildren Britney, Brandy, Jessica and Rachel; a brother John Rettko of Tacoma, Washington; a sister Dorothy Rogel of Spring Valley, IL. Preceded in death by his parents John and Lucille Rettko; two brother and two sisters. Born in Spring Valley, IL, a Joliet area resident most of his life. He retired in 1996 after serving Troy and Laraway Schools as Building and Grounds Supervisor, for more than 28 years. He also was a past caretaker for the Grundy Co. Rod and Gun Club in Morris, Il from 1997-2004. He then moved to Hollywood, AL to be near his beloved Granddaughters. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Scottsboro, AL and former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held Friday October 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home and Friday morning 10-11 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
