Betty Johnson

Betty Jo Johnson, 73, of Greeley died Saturday, May 1, at Centennial Health Care Center in Greeley.

She was born July 20, 1930, to Ross and Peggy White of Eaton.

She married Ralph Hicks of Greeley in 1950. She later married Walter Johnson of Greeley.

Mrs.Johnson graduated from Eaton High School in 1948 and attended Greeley Commercial College.

She worked at an area telephone company for a few years.

After raising her son, she worked at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She retired to enjoy her grandchildren and her garden.

Mrs. Johnson had a tremendous love for her family and was gifted with a rare and wonderful sense of humor. In addition to being a devoted mother and grandmother, she was an accomplished painter and sculptor.

Survivors are a son, Ross Hicks and wife Sheryl of Greeley; a sister, Maxine Schwartz and husband Don of Greeley; two grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

Her parents Ross O. White and Peggy White are deceased.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.

Betty Johnson
