Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Cade were held Saturday afternoon, April 3, 1965, at the First Presbyterian Church in Walnut with the Rev. Wm. Kuechmann officiating. Mrs. Cade passed away about 10 a.m. Thursday morning at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs where she had been a patient following surgery.
Sadie Cade was born at Irwin, Iowa on June 27, 1900, the daughter of Zack and Sarah Burger. On Jan. 7, 1918, she was united in marriage to Nick Cade, and to this union one son, Bernard, was born. The Cades made their home in Walnut following their marriage. Mr. Cade passed away in Jan. 1954, and Mrs. Cade continued to make her home here until 10 years ago. Since that time she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Cade of Council Bluffs. (Walnut Bureau, April 8, 1965, p. 1)
In the 1900 Census, the family was listed in Polk Township, Shelby County, Iowa and Sadie was 11/12 years old and born June 1899.
