OBITUARY OF ANNA A. POTE

Anna A. Pote, daughter of Samuel and Anna pote, was born in Cedar County, Iowa, January 19th, 1859, the youngest of thirteen children, all of them preceeding her in death, She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.B. Evitt near Corydon, with whom she was visitiing Saturday evening, October 13th, 1945, at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 3 days. She moved from Cedar County with her parents in 1875 to a farm a mile and a half southeast of Menlo.

There she met and married Charles F. Thierman, January 15th, 1880. To this union were born seven children. They have spent nearly 66 years of happy married life in and around Menlo. She has been a member of the Methodit church since girlhood.

One of her children, Frank, died 10 years ago . Besides her husband and six children, she leaves to mourn her loss 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, a friend ever ready to help in time of need.
