A veteran of the United States Navy, he was the widower of Hazel Virginia Law Brag (married for 62 year). He served as head deacon of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of the Oak Park Lodge #864 of the F&AM. He was survived by his daughter, Tamara Bragg Honaker (Steve); grandson, Christopher Honaker; great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Watters; and an extended family of relatives and friends. His funeral was held on July 22, 2013, with The Rev. Larry Laine, The Rev. Curtis Rich and The Rev. Gill Barrow officiating.
