Mr. John David Carter, 98, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Harmony Hill Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Dilday – Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Liberty All Cemetery. Rev. Mark Carrigan and Walter Butler will officiate the services.

Mr. Carter was born December 2, 1914 in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Ernest Carter and Alice (Darnall) Carter. He was retired from H. L. Carter & Son, a member of the Huntingdon First Methodist Church and an Air Force Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Carter, a brother, Gerald Carter, three sisters, Lucille Carter, Edna Leggett and Lenora Carter.

He is survived by two sons, Joe Morris (Betty) Carter, of Suwanee, Georgia and Johnny (Tina) Carter, of Brentwood, Tennessee. He also leaves four grandchildren, Angela Carter, Kes Carter, Preston Carter and Max Carter.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 PM till 8 PM at Dilday – Carter Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 AM till time of services.
