Margie Lee (Brackenridge) Jordan was born January 9, 1926 on a farm near Taborville in St. Clair County, Missouri, the eldest child and daughter of Everett Nally and Maude Frances (Whitley) Brackenridge. She received her early education in the local rural schools and was graduated from Eldorado Springs High School with the class of 1944.

On August 19, 1944 Margie was united in marriage with Robert Daniel "Bob" Abbott and to this union was born five children: Larry Robert, Ronald Wayne, Donna Jean, Dale Ray, and Jon Jay. Margie was a wife and homemaker initially on a farm near Tiffin in St. Clair County, Missouri. In 1946 she moved with her young family to a farm in southern Guthrie County, Iowa, where her family continued to grow. Robert Abbott died March 10, 1970, and Margie and the youngest of her children continued to reside on the farm in southern Guthrie County.

On June 23, 1973 she was united in marriage with Clifford C. Jordan at the United Presbyterian Church in Vail and moved to Clifford's farm west of Vail in Crawford County, Iowa. The couple continued to farm, retiring in 1993 and moving to Denison in 1995. The couple enjoyed their retirement with travel, fishing and camping until Clifford's death June 2, 2001.

Margie continued to reside at her Denison home until her death. At the time of her death she was 22 days from her 90th birthday.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Abbott, her second husband Clifford Jordan, her sister Vivian Nallene (Brackenridge) Tremain, her brother James Coleman "JC" Brackenridge, and her second child Ronald Wayne.

Survivors include her remaining four children, numerous nieces and nephews, two step-children, six step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Interment of her urn is planned for the spring of 2016 at Rosehill Cemetery, Menlo, Iowa.
