Manitowoc - Janet A. Schroeter, age 101, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

She was born September 26, 1916 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Donahue) Puls. On August 23, 1942, Janet married Elmer "Baker" Schroeter in Glendale, California. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1982. Janet was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1935. She was employed with S.S. Kresge Variety Store and Thelma's Clothing Store, Manitowoc. She was known for being an avid knitter.

Survivors include nieces and nephews: Marion and Clarence Brunner, Ron and Shirley Hunsicker, Bob and Maggie Puls, Tom and Sue Puls, Mary and Mike Fletcher; many grandnieces and grandnephews and great grandnieces and great grandnephews also survive. Janet is preceded in death by her husband: Elmer "Baker" Schroeter; her parents: Robert and Alice (Donahue) Puls; four brothers: Robert Puls, Raymond Puls, Earl (Mary) Puls, and Lester (Leone) Puls; three sisters: Minnie (Burt) Hunsicker, Marcella Puls and Odessa (Eli) Johnston; one niece: Dorla (Don) Seager and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Neil Piepenburg. Janet will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc.
