Tom O’DELL, 73, of Hodgenville, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. A World War II Army Veteran, he was a member of the Hodgenville United Methodist Church and attended the Hodgenville Christian Church. He was a member of the Hodgenville Lions Club, where he served as secretary, and was a former past district governor of Lions International, a member of Red Hill Cemetery Commission, a former board member of Kentucky Lions Eye Bank and treasurer of Kentucky Public Retirees (KPR) Lincoln Trail Chapter. He was retired from the state department of highways. Survivors include his wife, Nelen O’DELL; a daughter, Pattie O’DELL BORDERS of Glasgow; a son, Tom O’DELL of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Sid O’DELL of Ohio; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and one step-great-grandson. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Brownfield Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. John BRAND and the Rev. Carlton PURYEAR officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville. Visitation begins 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy make take the form of donations to Kentucky Lions Eye Bank in Louisville.
