William Franklin Brigner, 81, a native of Pike County, died Friday at 5 p.m. in Sheltering Arms Hospital at Athens, Ohio, after a four month illness.
Mr. Brigner was superintendent of state highway maintenance in Pike County for several years.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie Channell Brigner of Athens; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Rockwell of Lucasville Rt. 3, Mrs. Monroe Vermillion of Athens, where Mr. Brigner had made his home, and Mrs. Raymond Shrum of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Thomas Zimmerman of Piketon; three brothers, Earl of Beaver Rt. 2, Martin of Dayton, Ohio, and Charles of Detroit, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Brigner was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and three sons.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Stockdale Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Householder officiating. Burial will be in Germany Cemetery by Hammerstein Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Albert Rockwell residence on Owl Creek, Lucasville Rt. 3.
