Richard Edmund Myers, 83, died at 5 AM Thursday, June 25, 1998, in Westminster Village. Born on Aug. 24, 1914, in Wallace, IN, he had resided in West Lafayette since 1989, moving from Veedersburg. He attended Purdue University for one year. He married Margaret Carpenter on Dec. 3, 1938, in Hamilton County; she preceded him in death on June 9, 1993.

Mr. Myers was a farmer and owned an automobile and farm implement business in Veedersburg; he retired in 1974. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis, and MCL coffee group.

Surviving is a daughter, Jane (Mrs. Keith V.) Smith of West Lafayette; and a granddaughter, Amy Jones of West Lafayette. Service June 28, Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Richard Hurley officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
