Betty, the first daughter and second child of Charles Lyle Boyer and Gertrude Elizabeth VanCamp, was born in Toledo Ohio November 11, 1923. She attended Immaculate Conception Parish where she made her First Communion and Confirmation. She graduated from Central Catholic High School where she played in the band. She later worked as a retail clerk at Lamson's Department Store.

She married Arnold Leroy Skiver on February 27, 1943 at Immaculate Conception Church in Toledo. Together they raised 3 children.

Betty loved helping people, as well as raising flowers,and crocheting sweaters and afghans for her family.

The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Hospice of NW Ohio Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Betty will always be remembered by her family and friends. She added much to the lives of all whom she met.

Betty died on September 24, 1998 and was cremated according to her wishes. Her ashes were placed in Ohio.
