Joe was the son of Ermemia (Sherbo) and Guy S. Critelli. He married (1) Marjorie Grooms in 1937, and together they had three children: Robert, Donald and Sharon. He married (2) Anna 'Carolyn' Darrow in 1958, and they later adopted Joe's granddaughter, Tanya, who they raised as their own child.

Joseph Samuel Critelli, 78, of Billings, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 20, 1995, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, from complications following an automobile accident.
Joseph was born in Billings on Nov. 15, 1917, the son of Guy and Erminia Sherbo Critelli.
Joseph was an honest, fun loving person with a great sense of humor. He loved his family and was always ready to help when needed. He enjoyed family picnics, Sunday family dinners and was addicted to "The Price Is Right" and "The Wheel Of Fortune."
On May 28, 1937, he married Marjorie Grooms and together they had three children, Robert Critelli of Winter Springs, Fla., Donald Critelli of Billings and Sharon Critelli-Martinz, also of Billings. He joined the Army in WWII and served through 1946. This was one of his greatest joys in life. After leaving active duty, he remained in the National Guard through retirement.
On Oct. 11, 1958, married Carolyn Bean and enjoyed the extended family relationship of Richard Bean of Kalispell, Tom Bean of Payette, Idaho, Ernie Bean, also of Payette, and Sharon Bean-Reinhardt of Wickenburg, Ariz.
Together, Joseph and Carolyn adopted his granddaughter, Tanya Critelli of Billings. Joseph is also survived by a brother, Frank Critelli of Billings, a brother, Richard Critelli of Great Falls, his sister, Alberta Critelli-Murray of San Diego, Calif., his uncle, Frank Critelli of Billings; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
His love for his grandchildren, Amber, Elizabeth, Lindsay, Shaun, Lance, Eve, Kevin, Kim, Mark, Cindy, Teresa, Joe, Reggie, and Rod and Todd, extended to the 18 great-grandchildren he was blessed with, along with many extended family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joseph worked for the Bureau of Reclamation until retirement, under the supervision of a very good friend, Robert Repac. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Stella; his brother, Vincent; his brother, Allen; Marjorie Grooms-Farrow; his wife, Carolyn Bean-Critelli; his stepson/friend Owen Bean and stepson/friend, Vern Bean.
Dad, your love, kindness, friendship and guidance will be truly missed. The love will last until we're together in heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. Interment with military honors will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Mont. Division Inc., P.O. Box 1080, Billings, Mont. 59103-1080; or to the charity of one's choice.
