Philosopher. He was born and died in Barcelona. During Francisco Franco's dictatorship, he was forced to exile. He moved to France, Cuba and later to Chile, where was professor in Chilean University. In 1947, he moved to United States, first to New York city and later to Princeton, Baltimore and finally, Bryn Mawr, always as Professor of Philosophy. In 1960, he becomes an american citizen. He received, among other awards, Creu de Sant Jordi (Catalunya) and Príncipe de Asturias. Among his books "Cóctel de Verdad," "Diccionario de Filosofía," "El Ser y la Muerte," "Una Mica de Tot" and "La filosofia en el món d’avui, ètica aplicada." He was cremated and his ashes given to his wife Priscilla Cohn, who moved the ashes to Villanova (Delaware County, Pennsylvania).
