FOUND DEAD IN BED. Mrs Julia Archer Answers, the Final Summons While She Sleeps.
Mrs. Julia Archer, a resident of this city for over fifty years, was found dead in her bed at her home on the hill last Friday morning at the age of 84 years.
Several months ago Mrs. Archer fell, injuring herself severely. She was not, however considered as near death's door, and her demise was not looked for.
Mrs Archer came to East Dubuque over fifty years ago. She was the daughter of an eastern physician names Van Voucher (Voorhees). While quite young she married James Garnick, after which she went with her husband to reside in St. Louis. After residing there for a number of years they removed to East Dubuque, where she has resided every since.
Mr Garnick died a few years after settling here, and some time later she married B. B. Archer, who also preceded her to the grave.
The funeral took place Monday morning, when the remains were interred between the graves of her two deceased husbands. Rev. Graves of Dubuque officiating.
The pall bearers were Thos. Maguie, M. J. Platt, E. R. Paul, J. Demker, J. Dangelmeyer and J. Lynch.
