Stella Lucas Lundgren
August 30, 1930 - January 22, 2013

Stella M. Lucas Lundgren went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2013.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2013 at 11:30 am at the Dalhart City Cemetery. A reception will be held at The People's Church after the service.

She was eighty-two years old and had been living at the Sydney Creek Memory Care facility in San Luis Obispo, California. She was born to C.C. and Zumie Lucas on August 30, 1930 in Boise City, Oklahoma. She was the eighth child of eventually twelve born to C.C. and Zumie. Stella graduated from Dalhart High School in 1948. Stella left Dalhart in 1950 to be married to Donald Lundgren in Santa Maria, California.

Stella had a varied work life. Her first job was at the age of thirteen when she worked at the drug store in Dalhart at the soda fountain for ten cents an hour---she used to say that that seemed like a million bucks at the time. Later after her children were in school she worked as a teacher's aide in Santa Maria.

She loved working with children! In 1979 Stella moved back to Dalhart to help care for her parents. While here she got a job with the Dallam County probation department as a secretary and eventually became an assistant adult probation officer. She returned back to California in 1986 and became an administrative assistant for a CPA firm. Stella's faith in God was very important. She attended church regularly, attended Bible studies and prayed continually for family and friends. She was considered a prayer warrior by many!

Stella is survived by her four children, Deborah Rodgers(John), Kenneth Lundgren (Leslie), Dena Manka (Gary) and Kevin Lundgren (Christy). She had six grandchildren, Brandon, Jered, Kyle, Kacey , Celeste and Muriel. She also had three great grandchildren, Lauryn, Alexis and Kellan. She also leaves siblings, Gerald Lucas, J.C. Lucas, Reola Bonugli, Kay Hume (James), two brother-in-laws, Lee Lovelady and Robert Van Cleave plus many nieces and nephews.
