Richard T Fargo was a National Champion Race Walker. He was 87 when he died on July 5th, 2005 at the DuBois Nursing Home. He was the son of Wallace J and Mary Wilhelm Fargo, both buried in this same section and lot. Dick was graduated from East High School in 1936 and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a chief test engineer for Talon, Inc. for 43 years and a member of the 12 Apostle Luthern Church in Saegertown for 52 years. Dick had been on the Board of Directors at the Bethesda Children's Home in Meadville. He was a multi Gold metal winner in the National Senior Olympics and the Pennsylvania senior games as a Race Walker. He was the contributor's Uncle by marriage to Dorothy Klauk Fargo, sister to the contributor's father.
