Mark Ferguson was the son of Pheobe (Knapp) and Franklin S. Ferguson. His parents were both born in Indiana and were married in Muscatine, Iowa. Mark was the the youngest of 7 children. He was born March 26, 1877 in South Dakota. His siblings included; Lonora, Monroe, Alexander, Charles & Peter. They also had a sister Nellie who was born 1875 & died in 1876 in South Dakota.

The child listed as Murt in the census is actually Mark Ferguson.
He married Ida Fuller, daughter of Serena (Minor) and Ezra Andy Fuller. They were married on Christmas eve, 1909 in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha, South Dakota. Mark's brother Charles was married to Ida's sister Neva two years later in South Dakota.
Mark's parent moved around from Iowa, Illinois, & South Dakota. In 1940 Mark is living in South Dakota but sometime after the census he came to Illinois to live. He died in Muscatine, Iowa Dec 31, 1975 and is buried in Eliza Creek Cemetery in Mercer County.
