Death Notice in El Paso Herald (El Paso, Texas), Monday, 28 June 1915:

20TH INFANTRY SOLDIER KILLED

Private Lorenzo Adams of the machine gun section of the 20th infantry, died at the Fort Bliss hospital Saturday from the effects of a bullet wound which he had received while examining his automatic service pistol at the 20th infantry camp.

Private Adams and another member of his company were discussing the mechanism of their pistols and in demonstrating how the trigger worked, the pistol was discharged. The bullet entered the body of Adams and his death followed almost immediately after he was taken to the post hospital.

The body of the infantryman is being held at Fort Bliss pending the receipt of instructions from his father, whose home is near Jackson, KY. The Peak Undertaking company has charge of the remains and a military funeral will be held for the 20th infantryman.
