OGDEN - Afton June Carver Hunter Green passed away December 20, 2006 in Ogden, Utah, at the age of 87.
She was born December 2, 1919 in Clearfield, Utah the daughter of Lewis Henry and Alice Afton Freestone Carver.
She attended Davis High School and graduated from LDS Seminary.
She married Joseph Lawrence Hunter August 17, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, they were later divorced. After her marriage she lived in Ogden. In 1946 she moved to a farm in Burley, Idaho, where she resided until 1964. She then moved with her family back to Ogden.
In May 1974 she married Van Wilson Green. He died in August 1978.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions in the Primary, MIA and Relief Society. She served a two-year Stake Mission in Burley, Idaho. She also served two years as a temple ordinance worker at the Ogden Temple.
She was employed many years at ZCMI.
She is the mother of three children, Barbara Ann (Leland) Howell, of Orem; John Lawrence (LaDawn) Hunter of Roy; Karen (Ron) Peterson of Hooper; three stepsons, John, Robert and Wilson Green. She has 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26 and Wednesday, December 27, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. A brief memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will be in the Plain City Cemetery.
