GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Alma Lorene Chadwick Thompson Greer, 83, of Greenville, a retired day-care employee, were at 9 a.m. today at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville. She died July 24, 2005, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial was in Leahrton Cemetery, Ruleville.
She was the widow of Roy Woodrow Thompson. She also was preceded in death by her parents, William Andrew Chadwick and Alma Aline Garrard; a daughter, Zadie Dale Thompson; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ann (Perry) Thomas of Vinita, Okla., and Patricia Sue Laney of Avon; two sons, William Earl Thompson and Roy (Kathy) Thompson, both of Avon; a brother, Robert Vaughn of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Ernie Thomas, Charlene Hayes, Kieth Thompson, Samantha Laney Wiggins, Billy Thompson Jr., Jeff Thompson, Roy Thompson Jr. and Michelle Laney Norman; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Officiating ministers were Scott Frank and Jack Demoney.
Visitation was Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home.
