Edwin was the twin brother of Edna OTWELL-SIM. He was struck by a vehicle while walking to the candy store.

Published in the Buffalo Courier, Sept 1915:
"Boy Killed When He Runs in Front of Auto. The Rev. William KELLY of North Tonawanda was driving his automobile east in South Division street shortly before 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon when Edwin OTWELL, eleven years old, son of Edward J. OTWELL of No. 33 Lord street, ran directly in the path of the auto.
There was a shout of warning from Father KELLY, who did all in his power to avoid the accident, but the boy was struck and fell to the pavement.
Passersby ran to the boy's assistance, but Father KELLY was the first to reach his side. He carried him to the office of Dr. James E. CULBERT, No. 125 Seymour street. Dr. SEYMORE [sic] saw the victim was in serious condition and sent him to the Emergency hospital, where he died at 5 o'clock. Death was caused by a fracture at the base of the skull.
Father KELLY went to the Seneca street police station and made a statement."
