Gladys Marie Shadle, of Littlestown, departed this life July 15 in Hanover.

She was the daughter of the late Tempeth H. and Beulah Arma (Barnhart) Berwager.

Mrs. Shadle was a graduate of North Carroll High School, and was an employee of Sears Roebuck & Co., in Hanover, for over 35 years. She also volunteered at Homewood at Plum Creek, in Hanover. Mrs. Shadle was a member of St. Mary’s United Church of Christ, Silver Run, Md., V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary, F.O.E. Women’s Auxiliary and the Garden Club, all of Littlestown. She also served on the Church Consistory.

She was the wife of Malcom B. Shadle, who departed this life in 1995, and is survived by a son, LeRoy D. Kline, Jr., of Camp Hill; a daughter, Taffy S. Crosley, of Littlestown; a stepson, Jim Shadle; a stepdaughter, Anne Boone, of Littlestown; a brother, Ivan H. Berwager, of Hanover; five sisters, Pauline Mummert, Nadine Neiderer, Mary Gilbert and Grace Hempfing, all of Hanover, and Lettie Dupler, of Littlestown; five grandchildren and 10 stepgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Susan (Shadle) Ensor; a brother, Woodrow T. Berwager; and three sisters, Treva Zumbrum, Erma Hilker and Hazel Sullivan.
