- Pauline D. Adams, age 92, of Lorain, passed away on Friday July 12, 2013. She was born in Munhall, Pennsylvania on October 26, 1920 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1934.

Pauline was a 1939 graduate of Lorain High School; she later graduated with honors from the Oberlin School of Commerce where she was a member of the Alpha Iota Sorority.

She was formerly employed as an executive secretary at U.S. Steel Corporation's Lorain-Cuyahoga Works for thirty years.

Miss Adams was an active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was a member of the Marian Guild, the Altar and Rosary Society, and the Third Order of St. Francis. She was the founder of the Paduan Travelers and also held recognition for serving as the parish's first secretary; she held that position for more than a quarter of a century.

She was a member of the American Slovak Club, the Quota Club, the Lakeland Women's Club, and the National Secretary's Association.

She is survived by her brother John A. Adams, Jr. (Ida) of Lorain, by sisters Mary Jane Pruner of Las Vegas, and Johanna Waitt (Walter Wait, III) and Beverly A. Ockajik both of Amherst. She also leaves her nephew John D. Adams of Vermilion, along with many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John A. Adams, Sr. and Susan Adams (nee Banas), by her brother Robert Adams, Sr. and by sisters Lorraine Neal and Agnes Vargo.

Visitation will be Tuesday in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Richard Hudak, Pastor of the parish will officiate.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Donations are encouraged to the charity of the donor's choice .

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
