BENTON PIONEER DIES ON SATURDAY

JOHN A. BURTON SUCCUMBS TO KIDNEY TROUBLE AFTER LONG ILLNESS

John A. Burton, a Benton County pioneer who resided 2 miles north of the Watab Paper Mill, died at his home on Saturday.

He came to Sauk Rapids 25* years ago, driving a team of horses all the way from Texas. He lived at the home where he died for 32 years.

He is survived by 9 children: Mrs. Levi Vohs, Robert Burton, Mrs. Warren Gordon, J. E. Burton, William H. Burton, C. B. Burton, Mildred Burton; all of Watab; Mrs. Oliver Sheldon of Clearwater; Mrs. Harold McGregor** of North Dakota. His wife died 3 years ago.

The funeral services were held at the Congregational Church with burial in the Sauk Rapids Cemetery.
