Mr. Kraft was born September 7, 1925, in rural Dixon, Iowa, the son of Herbert and Malanie (Schult) Kraft. On February 22, 1947, he married Ardelle Arp in Davenport, Iowa. He farmed in the Dixon area prior to his retirement. His memberships included Hope Lutheran Church in Dixon and Iowa Nut Growers Association. He loved fishing, woodworking, and growing walnut trees and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include his wife, Ardelle; children, Charlotte Harksen, Dianne (Howard) Harrington, Kent (Kathleen) Kraft, Joni Grove, and Wendy Kraft (Harvey Thaler); grandchildren, Brent, Matthew, Laurel, Jennifer, Jonathan, Levi, Adam, Daniel, Annamarie and Michael; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille (H.A.) Kardel. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Zimpleman, in 1979, brother, Richard Kraft, in 1979, and a sister, Arrabelle Meyer, in 2006.
