Pfiester, David J., Sr., age 86, of Deerfield Beach passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008. Born in Altoona, PA, he had been a local resident since 1975 after retiring as president and owner of National Office Equipment Co. in Philadelphia. During WWII he served with the Army Air Corps as captain. As navigator, he flew missions in a B-17 bomber from England over Germany. He returned home as a war hero and toured the US selling war bonds. While on tour in Wisconsin, he met his future wife, Elizabeth. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth; by children: David J. Pfiester, Jr., of Deerfield Beach and his wife, Judith, and by Mary Jane Wright of Snellville, GA, and her husband, Steve; by grandchildren: Pamela Wallace, Pleasanton, CA, David J. Pfiester, III of Warminster, PA, James Pfiester (precede in death), Beth Allen of Snellville,GA, and Jeffrey Wright also of Snellville, GA; and by great-grandchildren: Alexandria Pfiester, Kasondra Pfiester, Larissa Pfiester, Gavin Wallace, Kieran Wallace, Colin Wallace, Torin Wallace, and Tyler Allen. A funeral mass has been scheduled for 10:00am on Thursday, April 17th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486. Arrangements were made by:Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 217 E.
