William A. Waits
William A. "Bill" Waits, of Dickinson, died at his residence Tuesday of natural causes. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Shrine of the True Cross. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. today at Forest Park East Funeral Home Chapel. Visitors may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. today.

Born July 30, 1909, in Mulberry Ark., Mr. Waits was in oil refining for Humble Oil and Refining Co., from which he was retired. He was also a pioneer in the shrimping industry in the Galveston Bay area for many years and a member of the Shrine of True Cross Catholic Church.

Bill was affectionately known as "Mr. Bill" to his many friends in the Galveston Bay area. He was a man's man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Waits of Dickinson; son, Pat Waits of Highlands; brother, Max Waits of Lady Smith, Wis.; and eignt grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Pat Waits, Greg Waits, Shane Waits, Billy Waits, Harvey Bradley and John Walker.
