Margaret Mills Ballard, widow of Henry A. Ballard, Jr. died July 12, 2013.
Born in Newberry County September 17, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Asbury Mills and Katie Metts Mills. She attended Winthrop College and graduated with a B.S. degree from Newberry College in 1942. She taught school in the Ninety Six Schools and retired in 1977 from Laurens District 55 High School. She was a dedicated member of Atonement Lutheran Church where she served continuously for many years as chairperson of the Worship and Music Committee.
Mrs. Ballard is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Phillip W. Woody (Angela), son-in-law LtCol Phillip W. Woody, USMC Retired, and grandson Cameron S. Woody all of Charleston and a brother- in- law, W. C. Hawkins of Irmo.
Funeral services will be, July 14, 2013, at Atonement Lutheran Church, conducted by The Rev. Dr. James R. Fox and Rev. Rick Inman, burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
