Adelheid Harborth Vogel, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at the age of 91. She was born Nov. 20, 1917 in Comal County, Texas, to Robert and Natalie (Babel) Harborth. She married Hugo Vogel January 11, 1933 in New Braunfels. He preceded her in death Mar. 10, 1979. She was a homemaker and ranch woman. Mrs. Vogel was also preceded in death by a sister, Irma Wetz, three brothers, Percy Harborth, David Harborth, and Alonzo Harborth, and a grandson, Hank Garcia.Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Childress and husband Charles of Hope, Arkansas, and Betty Garcia and husband Henry of San Antonio, Texas; one sister Alma Burkhardt of Canyon Lake; one brother Herman Harborth of New Braunfels, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday and continue until 8 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday Sept. 28, 2009 at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
