Sarah M. Lee
Sarah M. Lee was born at Hamilton, Madison county, New York March 5, 1849. She passed away at her home in Eldorado, Nebraska after a lingering illness October 11, 1927 at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 6 days.
She was united in marriage to Josiah F. Negley at Buda, Illinois on March 5, 1871. To this union was born six children, all of whom are living except Newton, who passed away August 8, 1887.
In the spring of 1887 she with her husband and children came to Clay county, Nebraska and settled at Eldorado. She has since resided there until her departure to be with the Lord, her husband having preceded her into the Great Beyond a few years ago.
She leaves to mourn her death three sons, namely George, William and Calvin, all of Eldorado, two daughters, Mrs. Sadie McGrath of Aurora, Nebraska and Alice of Eldorado, a number of grandchildren, besides other relatives and many friends.
She lived a peaceful quiet life with a firm faith in her Saviour and Lord and was a member of the Church of God. She sought to live a consistent and useful Christian life unto the end. Peace be to her memory.
The funeral was held at the M. E. church of Eldorado at 2:00 p.m. October 13, 1927, the Rev. Morris E. Rosene of Verona having charge of the service. Interment was made in the Harvard cemetery." Harvard Courier, Oct. 27, 1927
