Anna/Ona Keturakis was born around 1851 in Lithuania according to her granddaughter. A passenger manifest confirms 1851 but the 1920 Census points to 1854 and her death certificate (informant was her son) said she was born in 1856.

She married Andrew Vaitkunas* Feb 1879 in Suwalki, Poland. They moved to Scotland and Mar 07, 1897 were living in Holytown, County of Lanark, Scotland.

Ona (listed as Annie Vajtkunas) sailed from Glasgow, Scotland with her 10-year-old son, Joseph, on the Furnessia on May 30, 1908. They arrived in Ellis Island in New York on June 8, 1908. According to the ship manifest, they had been living in Dundee, Scotland. Their final destination was Scranton, PA.
Her husband, Andrew, had left Scotland for the United States in 1907, according to his ship manifest.

And just like her birth, her death date is contradictory. Her tombstone says she died 1924, but her death certificate says she died May 10, 1925. The perpetual care certificate for her grave says she died May 10, 1925. Her death certificate says she died of chronic bronchitis and chronic myocarditis. She was treated by her doctor for 9 days until she died at her home at 2116 Price St., Scranton.

*The name has various spellings including Vitikunas, Woytkunas, Waitkunas, Waitikins, Waitkins, Watkins.
