Mrs. Betty Sue Renegar Doty, 68, of Winston-Salem went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004. This precious mother, wife and grandmother died at Oak Summit Nursing Home.
She was born March 23, 1936, in Winston-Salem, the daughter of Elsie (deceased) and Pearl Renegar (surviving).
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael C. Doty and her brother, Ray Renegar.
Surviving family members include her husband of 52 years, James Bradley Doty Jr.; daughter Sonja Flynt and husband Rick of Lexington; son James Brian Doty and wife Michelle; two grandchildren, Summer and Autumn of Winston-Salem; sister Sylvia Worrell and husband Gary of Tobaccovillle; and several other relatives.
In our lifetimes some of us may never experience true love. James cared for and loved his wife for 52 years and he will always cherish the special moments only they shared. His loss is a great sorrow to us all. The love they shared is a great inspiration to us all.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 15, at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends in the Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel one hour prior to the graveside service. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Oak Summit Nursing Home for the love and care given to their loved one. Flowers may be sent to Pierce Funeral Home in Kernersville, which is in charge of arrangements.
