Silas A. Durgin, 86, a former resident of Granite Falls died at 3124 Oakes avenue, early Sunday after a lingering illness. Mr. Durgin was a member of the F. & A. M. Lodge of Granite Falls. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. May F. Cole of 2131 Highland avenue. Mrs. Emerald Plenkovich of Tacoma and Dorothy and Lorane Durgin both of 3417 Rucker avenue; his widow, Mrs. Thea Durgin of 3417 Rucker avenue; a son John Durgin of Holebrook, Ariz, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the funeral home of Purdy & Walters with the Rev. Charles E. Hanson officiating. F. & A. M. lodge of Granite Falls will have charge of services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
