Ellen Irene Wright, age 91, of Dallas, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 7, 2005. She was born in Amarillo, Texas, to Howard and Inez Smith on March 16, 1914. She was raised and educated in Amarillo and met her husband, James Edward Wright, there. Ed and Irene were married in 1942 and spent their married life in the Texas Panhandle area. Mrs. Wright was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas and the WMU. She was a devoted wife and homemaker who received great joy from her Christian Faith. She also enjoyed playing dominoes, reading, telling stories, and being around people. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Forrest E. Smith, Ira L. Smith, Elbert G. Smith, and Eddie H. Smith; and one sister, Helen Christine Smith Bryan. Mrs. Wright is survived by her nephew, Thomas R. Smith and his wife Kay, of Midland, Texas; one son, Clyde Wright of Colorado; sister in law, Yvonne Smith and nephew Randy Smith of Dallas; sister-in-law Jean Smith, of San Diego, California. 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held in Canadian, Texas at Edith Ford Memorial Park, where she was laid to rest beside her husband.
