Services for Mrs. Allona Slaton, age 88, of Lindale, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Rev. Byron Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors. Mrs. Slaton died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Kaufman County on February 5, 1925 to the late John and Margaret (Akins) Self and was a lifelong resident of Smith County and the Lindale area. Mrs. Slaton was a lifelong member of the Central Baptist Church in Lindale and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by husband, Milton Slaton; 2 sons, Troy Slaton and Wendell Slaton; and by 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

Mrs. Slaton is survived by 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Glenda & David Wright of Tyler, Texas and Evelyn & Tim McLemee of Carroll; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Ronald & Cheryl of Carroll and Marvin Slaton of Mt. Sylvan; sister, JoAnn Lunsford of Jamestown; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Addison White, Jordan Dunn, Payton McLemee, Marvin Slaton, Kolton Monds and Dillon Humphrey.
