Eugene P. Koett, 69, of Rock Falls, Illinois, died Sunday, November 9, 1997.Born January 30, 1928, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles and Alvina Brumm Koett.Mr. Koett was a crane mechanic for Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling, Illinois, retiring in 1991.Survivors include two sons, Dave Koett of Burlington and Ian Koett of the state of Washington; one daughter, Sandra Galt of Burlington; one stepson, Gerald Foskitt; two stepdaughters, Bobbie Schinderling and Cheryl Foskitt; one half brother, Frank Titus Sr. of Bee Branch, Arkansas; one half sister, Alvina Dottie Stokes of Marshall, Virginia; and four grandchildren.He was preceded in death by two brothers and a half brother.There will be no visitation.The graveside committal service for Mr. Koett will be at 10 a.m. today at Genesee Grove Central Cemetery, rural Coleta, Illinois, with the Reverend Fredrick Larner officiating.McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements. Original obituary stated he was buried in West Genesee Cemetery, but that is incorrect, no one has been buried their since 1930's.
