Rosi Mirko of Gilroy CA, age 55, died peacefully in her sleep at home with her sister holding her hands. Rosi fought the cancer that ravaged her body and endured the sudden death of her beloved husband of 27 years, Albert, last July. Rosi lived through it all without complaint. She maintained her beautiful composure with grace and dignity to the end. Rosi & Albert are together again in paradise.

Rosi is survived by her daughter, Tamara Poythress, four grandchildren, and siblings, Debra Sketchley, Richard Nelson, Ruthann Olsen, William Smeltzer, Samuel Smeltzer. As well as her beloved nieces and nephews.

Rosi was the founder and director of Town Cats, a nonprofit cat shelter and adoption center in Morgan Hill. Rosi was a champion for thousands for animal rights throughout San Jose and the South County region. She was a charter member of Mensa International.
