Jennie (aka Janice/Jan) Theresa Aarstol Allee

Jan Theresa Allee, nee Jennie Aarstol, died on December 2, 2005, in Portland, Oregon. She was born on March 31,1910, to Edward and Thomine Aarstol in Lawrence, Washington. She was the youngest of five children.

In 1937 she married Walter Allee in Seattle, later moving to California. For most of her life she lived in Oakland, California, and worked for the California State Department of Health. Jan was an active member of the Montclair Zion Lutheran Church, participating in quilting, signing in the choir, and helping in the grade school. She also was an ardent admirer of classical music, watercolor painting, and the Norwegian culture.

She is survived by her Brian; and grandchildren Jennifer, Scott, Mark, and Ben; stepchildren, Walter Jr, Adelle, and step-grandchildren, Douglas and Jimmy. Also survived by nephews; nieces; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Allee, her parents, Edward and Thomine Aarstol; four siblings, Selma, Doris, Thorald and Eddie; and nephews Richard and Loren Swenson.

Memorial Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Everson on Saturday, December 10, to be followed by inurnment at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church.
