SOUTHINGTON -- Margaret (Cassidy) Boyles, 82, of Southington, formerly of Plainville, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2001, at her home with her beloved family be her side.
She was born on July 11, 1919, in Plainville. Margaret was employed for over 25 years as a Registered Nurse at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington and was also director of nurses at Ridgewood Convalescent Home in Southington for many years. She was a World War II (1942-1946) veteran, serving as First Lieutenant Army Nurse in Germany. She was the wife of the late Charles James Boyles and the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Hazel Cassidy of Plainville.
She is survived by four loving children, Peggy LaLonde and her husband, David of Southington, William Boyles of Bristol, Jacqueline Boyles of New Haven and Christopher Boyles Sr. of Hilton Head, S.C.; three beloved brothers, Jack Cassidy of Plainville, Donald Cassidy of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Robert Cassidy of Plainville; six grandchildren, Eryen LaLonde of Southington, Erin Boyles of New Britain, Thomas Boyles of Bristol, Robert Ferguson, Eric Ferguson and Christopher Boyles Jr., all of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Eileen Boyles; her sister, Ann Marie Parkinson; and her brothers, Thomas Leo Cassidy and William Francis Cassidy.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, July 17, at 9 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. A memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial with military honors, will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in loving memory of her daughter, Eileen Boyles, to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater CT Chapter, 705 North Mountain Road, Suite G102, Newington, CT 06111-1411.
