Miss Bertha Irene Williams, 70, Apartment 3, 715 Broad Street, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday at Holston Valley Community Hospital. Born in Nickelsville, Va., she was a retired school teacher in Norfolk, Va. She was a member of the First Broad Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include six sisters, Mrs. Fred (Ann) Hackney, Mrs. D. L. (June) Fugate, Mrs. 0. M. (Virginia) Towers, all of Kingsport, Mrs. J. R. (Sylvia) Cox, Mrs. Orville (Jean) Robinson, Nickelsville, Va., Mrs. Faye Nickerson, Williamsburg, Va.; two brothers, Charles K. Williams and Robert Lee Williams Jr., both of Nickelsville, Va. Gate City Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Irene Williams, 70, of 715 Broad Street, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Ray Stuart assisted by the Rev. Walter Mabe will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holston View Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The body will remain at the Gate City Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday evening. Gate City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
