MAX ABERMAN PASSES
Well Known Jewish Merchant Pneumonia Victim
Max Aberman, proprietor of The Leader, 1804 Main Street, and also proprietor of a clothing store on Gervais Street, died of pneumonia at his home, 705 Elmwood Avenue, late yesterday afternoon. Mr Aberman was taken sick with influenza about two weeks ago and soon developed pneumonia, causing his friends to be apprehensive over his condition.
Mr Aberman was a native of Russia, but had made Columbia his home for the past 13 years He was popular among the Jews of the city and had made many friends during his stay here. Mr Aberman was formerly president of the Jewish synagogue and had taken an active part in welfare work of Columbia.
He was 36 years old and is survived by his wife and three small children, together with his mother and father, three brothers and one sister in Russia, and three brothers in America, two of whom are in the service.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rabbi David Karesh of the House of Peace this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the residence. Services will also be conducted in the synagogue. Interment will be in the House of Peace Cemetery.
