Julia A. Douglas, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Arcadia, Florida. She was born November 4, 1926 in Arcadia and was a lifetime resident.
Julia was a member of the Church of God of Arcadia, Florida.
Julia was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She liked to put up vegetables and prepare meals for everyone. When her health allowed she enjoyed travel, gardening, and reading a good book.
She is survived by her three children, two sons Jerry (Linda) Douglas and Lawerence (JoAnn) both of Arcadia, Florida; daughter Shirley (James) Driggers of St. James City, Florida; ten grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren.
Julia was preceeded in death by her husband Lawrence Douglas, parents George and Ellen Flint Summerall, five brothers and one sister.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Church of God, 1423 NE Oak Street, Arcadia. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Steve Griffen and Rev. Jimmy Collins officiating.
Burial will be at Owens Cemetery, Arcadia.
