ODESSA-- Maudie Mozell Ashburn, 94, of Odessa went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 4, 1907, in Iredell. She married Plummer Ashburn on Nov. 21, 1941. They moved to Odessa in 1945.

Maudie was a hairdresser and in her spare time she loved to sing, play the organ and guitar and paint beautiful pictures.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.

Survivors are her beloved husband, Plummer Ashburn of Odessa; sisters, Evelyn Haught of Kermit and Fannie Blue of Clifton; and 36 nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 11, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ernest Easley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
