Maude Compton, 85-year-old Blair woman who had lived here her entire life, passed away last Saturday at the Good Shepherd Home. She was born at Blair June 11, 1872.

Her husband, Dudley A. Compton, died several years ago. For years she had been virtually blind, but had continued making her home her. She was a life-time member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Compton had no children.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. W. Dudley Carter conducting the service. Burial under the direction of the Bendorf service was made in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers were Hans Petersen, Herbert Nelson, E. Clark Lippincott, Charles Seltz, Raymond Kuhr and Ross Love. (Printed in the November 28, 1957 Enterprise, Blair, Nebraska)

Rites Tuesday for Mrs. Maude Compton, Widow of D.A. Compton

Mrs. Maude Compton, 85, widow of D. A. Compton, died Saturday at Lutheran Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

The body was taken to the Bendorf Funeral Home, where services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. W. Dudley Carter officiated, and interment followed in Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hans Peterson, Herbert Nelson, E. Clark Lippincott, Charles Seltz, Raymond Kuhr and Ross Love.

Mrs. Compton, as Theresa Maude Compton, was married to Mr. Compton Aug. 18, 1915 and they farmed near Blair a number of years. Mr. Compton’s death occurred April 28, 1945.

Surviving Mrs. Compton are 12 nephews and nieces.
