A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey Anders and Lila Mae Bishop Anders. She was employed in the food service industry for many years as a dietitian. She was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gene Gilliam; two sons, Doug Gilliam and his wife, Cathy, of Hendersonville; David Gilliam of Cookeville, Tenn.; a daughter, Renee Nolan and her husband, Neal, of Horse Shoe; four brothers, Dick Anders and his wife, Joyce; Norman Anders and his wife, Cora; Freddy Anders and his wife, Vera; Billy Anders and his wife, Karla; a sister, Barbara Beddingfield and her husband, Louie, all of Hendersonville; numerous nieces and nephews; and three special people, the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Megan Gilliam, Miranda Gilliam and Zach Gilliam, whom she loved so much.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2004, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Revs. Dale Holloway, Darrin Waldroup and Roy E. Perry will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., this evening at Thos. Shepherd and Son Funeral Directors.
