Graveside for services Miriam Andrews Newsome, 84, widow of George B. Newsome, Jr. were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in Magnolia Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Gainey officiating.

Miriam was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Frank and Lillie Odom Andrews. Surviving are her sons, George B. Newsome III, Frank Newsome, James Thomas (Jim) Newsome, all of Hartsville; brother, Perry Andrews of Darlington; sister, Coley Truett of Hartsville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
