Daniel Althouse, 82, Bainbridge, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Annabelle Benner of Bainbridge, after a lingering illness.
He was born March 22, 1875 in Ross County, a son of Daniel and Susannah Wyant Althouse. His wife, Anna Ebright Althouse, died in 1923.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Elda Southers and Mrs. Benner of Bainbridge, Mrs. Edna Roosa and Mrs. Alice Shoultz of Greenfield, and Mrs. Leona Wallace of Columbus; four sons, Harold Althouse of Bainbridge, Ralph and Jasper Althouse of Chillicothe, and Lester Althouse of Washington Court House; a sister, Mrs. Susan Thomas of Dayton; 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bainbridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.
